So, we are halfway through August, you know what that means in the Pinterest world! It means we need to start concentrating on what to pin and create in September!

As you know Pinterest is a search engine and because of this we can identify trends. Trends vary slightly from year to year but overall it is possible to identify themes. And it is important to know the trends because you can use them for your Pinterest strategy.

Pinterest Trends is a tool introduced by Pinterest in the beginning of 2020. It is another great way of identifying trends on Pinterest. To find it go to Analytics -> trends. Type in any search term and Pinterest will show you how this has performed over the last year.

What to pin and create in September

Organisation is big in September. After the summer with the children back at school, pinners want tips on organisation. How to organise their house, after it has accumulated so much stuff over the summer, how to organise a new daily routine with the children back at school and how to organise their finances. Summers are usually expensive, most people spend a bit more than they intend to and so pinners are looking for advice on how to organise their finances. Especially as Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas are just around the corner.

With regards to Halloween, pinners will be looking for anything from costumes (including the now obligatory face mask!), to house decorations and how to carve a pumpkin to name a few. Pumpkin, Thanksgiving and Christmas recipes soar around this time of year as do preserving recipes.

As I mentioned in my blog about  August Trends, searches for Christmas have been increasing since lockdown so if you are selling anything related to Christmas make sure you put your content out there!

Autumn fashion continues in the month of September especially when temperatures start to drop toward the end of the month.

Above can seem a little daunting when you are still relatively new to Pinterest. If you want a super quick reference guide as to the seasonal trends on Pinterest please download the Clever Pins Perfect Pinterest Planner! It is a handy document with all the trends identified for each month. It will tell you exactly what to pin when.

If you need help with pin creation and you don’t want to hire a Pinterest manager, have a look at the Clever Pins Shop for pin template packages, they are sold in sets of 5 and 10 and they really are a great time saver!
