It is time to look at what content to pin and create in August! Being a search engine, you can predict trends on Pinterest! Which is great because if you are a business marketing your products and services on the platform it is important to be aware of them!

There are several ways to stay up to date with the Pinterest Trends. One way is to download the The Clever Pins’ Perfect Pinterest Planner This is a handy document which gives you all the Pinterest trends in one overview. No more hours of searching on Pinterest!

The other option is the Pinterest Trends Tool. This tool was introduced in the beginning of 2020 and is a great way of identifying trends on Pinterest. To find it go to Analytics -> Trends. Type in any search term and Pinterest will show you how this has performed over the last year.

Also make sure you haven’t missed Pinterest Predicts 2021. This is a great report issued by Pinterest of all the trends for the coming year.

So let’s have a look at what content to pin and create in August 2021.

Back to school

I know it might only seem like yesterday that kids broke up from school but this is really the time to put your ‘back to school’ content out there.

Pinners start looking for lots of Autumn related content from around August. Think fashion, trips and recipes to name a few.

Halloween, Thanksgiving

Although maybe a little early, start thinking about your content with regards to the above. Do you have content that is directly related? Can you tweak your content to give it a Halloween or Thanksgiving spin? Once we start approaching the end of August pinners will start searching for Halloween and Thanksgiving inspiration. And believe it or not I have already seen the first Christmas pin in my home feed!

Generally the summer is for relaxation and to unwind. People spend more time with their families and routines are ‘thrown out of the window’ a little. However, it is usually in August that pinners crave a bit of normality again and so will start searching for anything to do with planning, organisation and routines.

Whilst we are in the middle of summer that doesn’t mean that summer searches have stopped. Not sure where you are but if you are in the UK like me, we haven’t had much of a summer so far (although I am writing this in the middle of a heatwave!). Summer searches are still going. Think along the lines of camping, summer recipes, cocktails, BBQ recipes etc.

If you want to be marketing your products/services on Pinterest you need to think ahead and look at what special days are coming up. Remember pinners are planners! For this type of content it is good practice to start pinning at least 45 days before the actual event.

I hope the above is helpful and you will be able to create new content that drives traffic. Make sure you get the Clever Pins’ Perfect Pinterest Planner to help you with your content.
